Report claims 16-year-old academy starlet could be the answer to Spurs right-back crisis

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled in many areas so far this season, winning just four games out of 13, but perhaps the biggest area of concern has come at right-back.

Pochettino and Levy took the decision to sell first-team star Kieran Trippier after a poor last campaign, with the England man now thriving in Spain for Atletico Madrid.

However, Spurs failed to bring in a replacement, meaning that Poch has been forced to make do with what he already has at the club.

Kyle Walker-Peters was trusted to start the opening three matches before picking up an injury, but he has been unable to win his place back regularly ever since.

Davinson Sanchez then moved from centre-back to right-back in order to cover for a couple of games, but looked like a fish out of water.

Ex-PSG star, Serge Aurier came in after that, and despite a blip involving a red card and Moussa Sissoko covering, the Ivorian looks to now be first choice.

However, the Sun have now reported that 16-year-old academy starlet, Dermi Lusala, could be the answer to Pochettino’s prayers.

The report claims the youngster is full of pace, energy, and athleticism, as well as being a Tottenham local boy. He made his debut for the U18 side last season and has been tipped to be one of the next academy players to follow Kane and Winks into the first-team.

Since impressing in the Oberndorf U19 pre-season tournament, Lusala has been a regular for the U18 side.

Could he be one for the future?
