Report claims 20-year-old has been on Tottenham’s radar for over a year

Norwich City defender Max Aarons is one of the options on Tottenham’s radar as the club seek to bring in a replacement for Serge Aurier in the summer, according to a report by Eurosport,

Aurier reportedly had a falling out with Mourinho at half-time of Tottenham’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool two weeks ago and he was subsequently dropped from the matchday squad for Spurs’ trip to Brighton.

Although the 28-year-old was back in the starting line up for Tottenham’s clash against Chelsea on Thursday, Eurosport reveal that the Ivorian’s future at the club is far from secure.

The report claims that Aarons is one of the options Tottenham are eyeing, with the Norwich star having been scouted by the North London club for the past year.

However, it is said that a deal for the 20-year-old will not be straight forward to pull-off since there could potentially be plenty of competition for the Canaries man, including potentially from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge also recently told us exclusively that there is interest from Spurs in Aarons, as shown in the video below.

In hindsight, we could have potentially paid a little more to snap up Aarons last summer instead of going for Doherty. Given Aurier’s contract situation, he is likely to be sold in the summer if he does not pen a new contract over the next few months.
