Report claims 22-year-old Spurs target actually dreams of joining rivals Arsenal

Sky Sports have claimed that rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target, Eberechi Eze, is dreaming of a move to Arsenal.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed an exceptional season in the Championship, notching up 14 goals and eight assists in the league (transfermarkt.com).

Tottenham were installed as the favourites to sign the QPR star back in March but the Lilywhites no longer look to be the front-runners for his signature.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has claimed that Crystal Palace and West Ham United are the furthest ahead in negotiations for the attacking midfielder, while The Sun have claimed that Leeds United are also keen on bringing him to Elland Road.

Sky Sports has now revealed that Eze grew up supporting Tottenham’s fierce North London rivals, Arsenal and dreams of wearing the club’s shirt one day.

The report asserts that the attacking midfielder will be sold by QPR this summer if any interested club offers around £20million.

The likes of Jermain Defoe and Gareth Bale, who some consider Spurs legends, grew up supporting Arsenal, while Dennis Bergkamp reportedly grew up supporting Spurs. Jamie Carragher is also a Liverpool legend despite growing up as an Everton fan. So Eze’s Arsenal allegiance is not really important if we are interested in signing him. I would suspect the midfielder would be keen to come to Spurs but if recent reports are to be believed, it does not look like we are really pushing hard to sign him.
