Sky Sports have moved dismissed speculation that Nuno Espirito Santo is attracting interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Reports from Turkey had suggested that Fenerbahce were keen on the 47-year-old (Radyo Gol) which saw former striker Gary Lineker later suggest that Santo had snubbed a move to North London.

The 47-year-old left Wolves by mutual consent at the end of the season and has been heavily tipped to be at the top of Tottenham’s managerial shortlist.

Fabio Paratici has finally arrived in London to take up his role as managing director of football at Spurs and is set to look to progress talks further with Nuno this week.

Tottenham are said to be confident of having their new head coach in place before the players who have not been on international duty return to pre-season training.

Paratici has already attempted to bring in Fonseca and Gattuso, now he looks set to be intent on appointing Nuno.  The whole managerial search has been a PR disaster for the club which is now into its tenth week.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Initially Spurs fans didn’t want Mauricio Pochettino either according to the twats in the media and various blogs, they wanted Louis van Gaal. Less than a year later, Pochettino was a hero and still is to some, especially those in the media. Nuno put Wolves back on the footballing map and should not be disrespected. I would love to see him as the new Spurs boss, he has great footballing knowledge and is very well respected in the game. The players he brought to Wolves were brilliant, some of whom I’d like to see in a Spurs shirt. Antonio Conte was my first choice but that wasn’t to be however like I mentioned earlier, would love to have Nuno at the helm.
