Report claims Galatasaray are interested in young Tottenham defender

Juan Foyth was a relatively popular figure under fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino, as you always felt that the manager saw the youngster as the future of the Spurs back line.

Last season, Foyth played 17 games for the Lilywhites, including two Champions League matches, featuring in a total of 1,258 minutes. Not bad for a then 21-year-old centre-back (Transfer Markt).

However, this season Foyth has played just seven times for Tottenham, with only four of those coming in the Premier League. Since Pochettino was sacked, Foyth has played just 46 minutes under Mourinho (Transfer Markt).

As such, the 22-year-old is now being linked with a move away from North London, as Turkish side Galatasaray are said to be interested in the Argentine.

Sporx also add that Victor Wanyama may be another target for the club, as Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim is a close friend of Mourinho.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Unfortunately, Foyth has slipped down the pecking order yet again with the rise of Tanganga. However, I do see promise in him still and would prefer to see him loaned out to a low Premier League side for the rest of the season.
