Report claims Harry Kane is ‘certain’ to be named as a sub against Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur are now under a week away from the biggest night in the club’s recent history, as they are set to walk out for the Champions League final for the first time.

Spurs haven’t won a trophy in well over a decade, but the biggest piece of silverware in club football would be some way to break that drought.

Tottenham face Liverpool in the final on June 1 in Madrid, as the Reds line up for the second successive Champions League final.

All the talk has been about whether Harry Kane will start the match, make the bench, or lose the race to be fit enough to feature (Metro).

The Daily Star now say the striker ‘looks certain’ to start the match from the bench after sustaining an ankle ligament injury in the quarter-final first leg against Man City.

However, we will likely only know for sure once Spurs release their team sheet an hour before kick off. Would you want Kane to start?

Spurs Web Opinion:

I believe Kane starting from the bench is the right way to go. Either that or start him and only play him for a half. I think you have to prioritise both the player’s health, and the other strikers who are in much better form and are far fitter. Let Kane play a part because he is one of the best strikers in the world, but do not pick him purely on name alone.
