Report claims Harry Kane’s stay at Bayern Munich could be shortlived

According to a report in L’Equipe (as relayed by FourFourTwo), Harry Kane could leave Bayern Munich this summer after just one season with the Bundesliga giants.

Although things have not gone to plan for Bayern, who are all but out of the running for the Bundesliga title, Kane is having a sensational first season at the Allianz Arena.

The centre-forward now has 39 goals and 12 assists across all competitions so far this campaign, with his latest strike coming at the Emirates in the Champions League quarterfinal against Arsenal yesterday evening.

In a fan forum at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in September, Daniel Levy claimed that Spurs attached a buy-back clause to the agreement when they sold Kane in the summer (Evening Standard).

However, it has since been confirmed by various sources that Tottenham would simply have a right to match any bid that Bayern accept for the striker in the future (Fabrizio Romano –The Spurs Chat Podcast).

Kane could leave Bayern Munich this summer

If L’Equipe‘s latest update is to be believed, Spurs might have the opportunity to re-sign Kane sooner than they imagined.

The outlet says that the England captain is one of five players that the German club could cash in on this summer, alongside the likes of Aleksandar Pavlovic, Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer.

This is because the Bavarians allegedly want to rebuild their squad after missing out on the title and could thus offload their senior stars and build around a young core.

Kane looks likely to end the season with over 60 goal contributions. It is ridiculous to suggest that Bayern would want to get rid of the striker. Whoever replaces Thomas Tuchel, there is no doubt that he will want the 30-year-old to be a part of his plans.
