Report claims how much Spurs will have to pay in wages for Gareth Bale

The Daily Mail has revealed that Gareth Bale is set to become Tottenham’s highest earner if he completes a move from Real Madrid this transfer window.

The report reveals that Los Blancos are prepared to pay over half of the winger’s bumper wages, which would leave Tottenham having to pay just £250,000-a-week of his salary.

Despite the amount being less than half of the 31-year-old’s current salary, that would still make him the highest-paid player at Spurs, comfortably clear of Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele who earn £200,000 a week.

Daniel Levy is reportedly prepared to make Bale the highest earner at the club and the Spurs chairman is said to be confident of completing the deal despite lingering interest from Manchester United in the winger.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the former Tottenham man left the Real Madrid training session after just 20 minutes on Wednesday morning (talkSPORT).

Spurs Web Opinion

This would be a real statement of intent from Levy and the club, particularly considering the difficult financial climate at present. Given the moves that some of our rivals have made in the transfer window so far, a marquee signing like Bale is exactly what the club needs to lift the spirits and give us a shot at challenging for major honours.
