Report claims Italian club could cash-in on Spurs-linked centre-back

In news that comes as a potential boost to Tottenham’s chances of landing Milan Skriniar, Italian outlet Leggo report that Inter Milan could cash in on the centre-back this summer.

After their failed attempt to sign Skriniar last summer, Spurs have been backed to make another attempt to sign the Slovak, who has been a key part of Antonio Conte’s side Serie A title-winning campaign this season.

The central defender has just two years left to run on his contract at the San Siro but he has expressed his intention to sign a new deal with the club.

However, if Leggo are to be believed, Inter might be forced to sell some of their stars this summer due to the financial impact of the pandemic.

It is explained that the club’s board will sit down with Antonio Conte to discuss which players are dispensable as they attempt to reduce their wage bill.

The report asserts that Skriniar could be one of the players Conte agrees to sacrifice, with Spurs and Manchester United both showing interest in the centre-back.

It does look as though Inter could be forced to sell some of their stars but it remains to be seen whether we can afford to pay the kind of fee the Serie A giants would demand for the likes of Skriniar.

Some reports have indicated that it was Mourinho who was spearheading Tottenham’s approach for Skriniar. So, I would not be surprised if the club turned their attentions to other options (like Joachim Andersen) now that Jose has departed.
