Report claims Juventus rebuild could open up transfer opportunities for Spurs

Football.London have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could look to take advantage of Juventus’ rebuild this summer after Andrea Pirlo’s appointment.

Pirlo was swiftly appointed to replace Maurizio Sarri after the Old Lady were eliminated from the Champions League by Lyon on away goals last week.

It is revealed in the report that Pirlo will now look to reshape Juve’s squad this summer and bring down their average age.

The report asserts that the Italian giants are likely to cash in on the likes of Daniele Rugani, Adrien Rabiot, and Gonzalo Higuain, none of whom are in the new boss’ plans.

It is claimed that the trio’s availability could interest Spurs since the Lilywhites are on the lookout for a central defender, a defensive midfielder, and a backup striker.

Spurs reportedly tried to sign Rabiot before he joined Juve last summer (CalcioMercato) but the midfielder snubbed the North Londoners in favour of a move to Turin.

Spurs Web Opinion

Rugani has not really really shown the necessary attributes needed to be a successful central defender in the Premier League, while Hojbjerg’s signing (which looks imminent) pretty much rules out any chance of us moving for Rabiot. Higuain is not really the kind of striker Jose likes as he is more of a goal poacher, who provides little outside the box. Therefore, I do not see any of the three aforementioned players interesting Spurs this summer.
