Report claims Man Utd midfielder would be open to Spurs talks

The Times claim that Jesse Lingard would be open to holding talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential transfer.

ESPN claimed on Monday that Tottenham were considering a move for Lingard as a replacement for Dele Alli.

Reports have suggested that Dele has been offered to clubs around Europe (Fabrizio Romano) but Jose Mourinho admitted on Wednesday that he does not expect the midfielder to leave the club before the transfer window closes.

Irrespective of where Dele’s future lies, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold and The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare have both claimed that the North Londoners do not hold any interest in Lingard.

However, The Times claimed that the Manchester United midfielder would not be against a move to North London.

Zenit St Petersburg are also said to be interested in Lingard’s signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

The journalists who are close to Spurs seem to be suggesting that there is not much truth to this report. Additionally, Jose has been clear that he wants a balanced squad with two players for every position. Even if Dele leaves, we have several attacking midfield options and I do not see where Lingard would fit in.
