Report claims Mourinho has decided to sell 27-year-old this summer

According to a report by The Times, Jose Mourinho has decided to cash in on Serge Aurier when the transfer window opens.

Right-back is one of the areas where Tottenham are said to keen on making additions in the ahead of next season (Express).

Aurier is the only out and out right-back in the squad as things stand apart from Kyle Walker-Peters, who has been loaned out to Southampton until the end of the season.

There have been contradictory reports on the Ivory Coast international’s future over the past few weeks with some suggesting that the 27-year-old is set to be handed a new deal by the club (Le10Sport), while others claim that the North Londoners are ready to part ways with him in the summer (The Sun).

The Times claim that Mourinho has decided to sell both Aurier and Walker-Peters this summer in order to raise transfer funds to pursue the players he wants.

It is claimed that the Spurs wants to bring in either PSG’s Thomas Meunier or Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne as a replacement.

Spurs Web Opinion

Considering that Aurier has played nearly every game since Jose has arrived at Spurs, I just do not see how the Spurs boss will want to get rid of him this summer.

While it is always possible that we might sell for the right offer in order to raise transfer funds, I believe there are other first-team players who will be considered more dispensible than the Ivorian.
