Report claims Mourinho wants to bring former Tottenham star back to the club

According to Don Balon (as relayed by CalcioMercato), Tottenham Hotspur will look to re-sign Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan just 12 months after selling the midfielder.

Recent reports have indicated that a move to Arsenal is on the cards for the former Spurs midfielder, while Paris Saint-Germain have also been suggested as a potential destination.

However, Don Balon claim that the Dane could be set to come back to his old stomping ground, with Tottenham willing to pay €35m (£32m) to re-sign him from Inter.

The report suggests that Jose Mourinho wants to bring the 28-year-old back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and that Eriksen is also open to the idea.

PSG and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the midfielder’s services.

This report contradicts The Athletic’s previous assertion that Tottenham are unlikely to consider re-signing Eriksen as the low taxation rate for high earners in Italy means that Spurs would have to pay a significant amount just to match the midfielder’s current wages.
