Report claims Nuno at risk of being sacked just 89 days into his Spurs job

The Sun have reported that Nuno Espirito Santo is at risk of being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur after the side’s 3-1 loss in the North London derby.

The pressure is now starting to pile up on Nuno after Tottenham fell to their third consecutive loss on Sunday, having conceded three goals in each of those games.

The Independent have claimed there is some discontent among the Spurs squad with the Portuguese coach’s approach, with one source close to the squad describing the 47-year-old as “some of the worst of Mourinho without the medals”.

If The Sun’s latest report is to be believed, the former Wolves boss now faces the prospect of losing his job just 89 days after his appointment.

It is explained that Nuno was never viewed as a long-term option by Tottenham, which is why the club only offered him a two-year contract.

On the back of the team’s poor results over recent weeks, he is now thought to be fighting to hold on to his job.

Nuno’s post-match press conference yesterday was quite telling as he sounded like a man under pressure. One can understand why the Tottenham hierarchy are already having doubts over the 47-year-old as the team’s tactical identity seems unclear.

However, realistically, I expect him to get at least another couple of months to turn things around unless there are no signs of improvement over the next few weeks.
