Report claims only ’30 per cent’ chance of rumoured Spurs target being sold

This week’s print edition of Danish publication Tipsbladet has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in Atalanta wing-back Joakim Maehle, however, add that the player is unlikely to leave the Serie A club this summer.

Spurs have already strengthened at left wing-back with the addition of Ivan Perisic and the North Londoners are reportedly confident of snapping up Djed Spence for the right wing-back role (Football Insider).

Another right-back who Antonio Conte’s men have been liked with this summer is Maehle, with Italian publication Il Giornale reporting last month that the Premier League side had held talks with Atalanta regarding the player.

Danish publication Ekstra Bladet reported last week that scouts from Tottenham were in attendance to watch Maehle during Denmark’s 2-1 win over Austria in the Nations League.

Tipsbladet report that Spurs remain a possible destination for Maehle this summer, with the Lilywhites said to have expressed an interest in the full-back.

It is explained that Atalanta do not plan to sell the Danish international this summer but things could change if the Serie A club receive an offer of around €20m- €26m (£17.1m-£22.2m) for the player.

The report adds that as things stand, there is only a ’30 per cent’ chance of Maehle leaving Gian Piero Gasperini’s side this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs might have looked at Maehle previously but Dane evidently is not a target any longer, with the North London club seemingly setting their sights on Djed Spence. I expect the Boro starlet to be the next one to arrive through the door following Yves Bissouma.
