Report claims PL club could make player plus cash offer for Harry Kane

CalcioMercatoWeb have claimed that Chelsea could offer Romelu Lukaku plus cash to Tottenham in exchange for Harry Kane.

Kane has less than two years left on his current deal at Tottenham (Transfermarkt) and reports from Germany are continuing to link the England captain with a move to Bayern Munich next summer.

Florian Plettenberg told Sky Sports (Football Daily) a few days ago that he is “totally convinced” that the Spurs star will be a “very very hot topic” at Bayern Munich during next summer’s transfer window.

Tuttosport claimed last week that should the England captain leave Spurs, Antonio Conte would want to replace him with Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan.

If CMW’s latest update is to be believed, Graham Potter is a big fan of Kane and would like to bring the striker to Stamford Bridge. The report asserts that Chelsea could offer cash plus Lukaku to Spurs in order to snap up the 29-year-old.

However, it is explained that a potential roadblock would be the fact that Inter have an option to buy the Belgian international permanently at the end of his loan spell at the San Siro this season.

CMW state that the Nerazzurri are ‘unlikely to miss the chance’ to re-sign Lukaku permanently, particularly if the striker performs well this season.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Kane does not sign a new contract with Spurs, I am sure that a lot of clubs will be sniffing around him next summer.

However, I am not convinced that the 29-year-old would want to join Chelsea as the move might not necessarily be a step up, particularly since I expect us to finish ahead of the Blues this season.
