Report claims player will return to Spurs this summer before potential sale

CalcioNapoli24 have claimed that Tanguy Ndombele will first return to Tottenham Hotspur this summer before Napoli begin exploring whether a permanent deal will be possible for the midfielder.

Ndombele netted his first Serie A goal for Napoli in their 4-0 win over Torino on Sunday, with the 26-year-old coming off the bench to put the icing on the cake for the Serie A club, who took one more stride on their way to the Scudetto.

Although the Frenchman has primarily been used as an impact substitute by Luciano Spalletti, the experienced Italian coach did praise the former Lyon man last week, hinting that Spurs might have made a mistake by sending him out on loan (TuttoMercatoWeb).

However, CalcioNapoli24 have now suggested that rather than Napoli activating the option to buy Ndombele permanently, the player will first return to N17 at the end of the season.

It is explained that the midfielder would like to get more minutes and will thus sit down with both Spurs and Napoli to decide his future.

The report asserts that representatives from the Italian club will fly to London during the summer to find a solution that suits all three parties.

Even if Ndombele is not particularly keen on returning to Napoli due to his struggles to break into the club’s starting eleven, one would think that several Serie A clubs would likely show interest in snapping up the Frenchman in the summer, given the glimpses of quality he has shown at Naples.
