Report claims Spurs are keen on striker after Bayern Munich move stalls

Multiple reports from Germany over the past few days have claimed that rumoured Tottenham target Sasa Kalajdzic could move to the Premier League this summer instead of joining Bayern Munich.

Bild reported last week that Kalajdzic was of interest to Spurs and other Premier League clubs and his agent had even travelled to England to attempt to push through a transfer.

However, Football Transfers claimed earlier in the week that the Austrian was bound for the Allianz Arena, with Bayern said to have agreed on a deal worth €25m (£21.5m) with Stuttgart for the centre-forward.

There appears to be another twist in the race for Kalajdzic’s signature according to the recent reports emanating from Germany.

German outlet TZ claim that negotiations between Bayern and Stuttgart for the striker are stalling after initial talks.

This is said to have opened the door for other clubs, with the report adding that Tottenham, Southampton and Brighton have all expressed an interest in the Austrian international.

Additionally, journalist Marcel Reif has also been quoted as saying in Focus that he expects Kalajdzic to move to England rather than to the Allianz Arena this summer.

Reif said: “I think he (Kalajdzic) will go to England. From what I hear, there are already relatively clear agreements.

“Not quite Liverpool, but below. The West Hams of this world are looking for players like that.

“He’s a great boy, he’s far from finished. We’ll be hearing from him if he stays healthy. Bayern would have been too early for him.”

If Spurs do sign a winger like Raphinha or Saint-Maximin instead of a versatile forward of Richarlison’s mould, we should not rule out a move for Kalajdzic since Conte may want to bring in a backup to Kane.

However, I think that is quite unlikely and I fully expect the club to replace Bergwijn with a forward like Richarlison, who can operate across the front three.
