Report claims Spurs are set to be without £27million man for Everton clash

Tottenham Hotspur appear to be without the services of Giovani Lo Celso for Sunday’s first Premier League match of the new season.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton are the visitors to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the Toffees having made some smart moves in the transfer market during the summer.

Football.London claim that Lo Celso was nowhere to be seen in training on Tuesday and is unlikely to be involved at the weekend.

The Argentine has not featured in any of Tottenham’s four pre-season matches and did not appear on camera when Sky recorded footage of training yesterday morning (Football Daily).

Tottenham secured the services of Lo Celso on a permanent deal in January when he completed a £27.2million move from Real Betis after initially joining the club from the La Liga side on a season-long loan with the option to buy (BBC).

The absence of Lo Celso will be a big blow for Tottenham after he was arguably our best player in the second half of the campaign, we are short of creative options on the final third following the departure of Christian Eriksen.
