Report claims Spurs could recall forward from loan spell

According to a report by the London News Online, Tottenham Hotspur could recall Troy Parrott from his loan spell at Millwall before the January transfer window closes.

Parrott’s loan spell at Millwall has not gone according to plan with ankle and thigh problems ruling him out of action for the first couple of months of the season.

Since regaining his fitness, the striker has not been a regular in the Championship club’s starting eleven and has often been used as an impact substitute.

The teenager is yet to open his account for the Lions and in our opinion, looks short of confidence at the moment.

It was reported last month that Spurs could potentially cut the 18-year-old’s loan spell short but Millwall boss Gary Rowett dismissed those claims.

London News Online now claim that Tottenham could recall Parrott since he is not featuring regularly for Rowett’s side.

The report states that Spurs could loan the striker out to a League One club for the remainder of the season.

Even if Parrott is not guaranteed starts, he is still getting game time off the bench at Millwall. The challenge of breaking into the side could potentially be a learning experience for the youngster. So, I would not be too quick to recall him. However, there is also the risk of his confidence taking a hit if he continues to warm the bench for the rest of the season.
