Report claims Spurs first-teamer may decide to go on strike ahead of next season

Harry Kane could decide to refuse to report for pre-season training at Tottenham Hotspur such is the belief of some of his England team-mates, according to The Telegraph.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City in the past few weeks and the report claims that he could resort to going on strike in order to push through a transfer to the Premier League champions.

It is claimed that should Daniel Levy play hardball over his future, there is a chance that he will not take part in Nuno Espirito Santo’s preparations for the season ahead.

Kane is said to be of the understanding that he has a gentleman’s agreement with the Spurs chairman over his future with the understanding that Tottenham would listen to any bids which are received.

City are reported to be prepared to spend £100million to take the England captain to the Etihad, with Levy determined to keep Kane at the club and shared his point of view with the club’s managerial candidates, including Nuno.

Kane is considered to be the ultimate professional, if he were to go on strike it would certainly not be good for his own reputation and would result in a lot of fans viewing him in a different light.

How Levy can try and persuade Kane that his future should remain in North London appears to be a monumental task given the fact we cannot offer him Champions League football and are not in the same category as City and other clubs when it comes to competing for silverware.
