Multiple reports claim only one Premier League side have shown interest in Eriksen deal

While some Spurs fans may have taken the rumours linking Christian Eriksen with a potential return to the club with a pinch of salt at first, the speculation has intensified over recent weeks, with multiple publications now reporting similar stories.

Sport Witness have relayed the latest reports from the Italian print media on the future of Eriksen and they seem to suggest that a return to Tottenham is very much on the cards for the Dane this month.

They reveal that Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Inter are willing to let the 28-year-old leave but are demanding either a loan fee or a permanent transfer.

The publication suggest that Tottenham are the only club to show interest and that the Lilywhites side have already sent ‘a few signals’.

Sport Witness also relays a report from Corriere dello Sport, who make similar claims, suggesting that Inter have offered Eriksen to many Premier League clubs but that Tottenham are the only club to have shown any interest.

The latter also reveals that Jose Mourinho is ‘thinking’ about taking the former Ajax man back, which might suggest that the Spurs boss is not completely sold on the idea.

I would not be surprised if Tottenham are exploring the idea of re-signing Eriksen only because Dele Alli could push for a move to PSG and the club are worried that they might be left a little short in numbers for their busy run of fixtures over the next few months.

However, as Alasdair Gold has pointed out on multiple occasions, we already have issues filling our non-homegrown criteria for the Europa League and so it would not make much sense to bring in another foreign-trained player without moving another one on.
