Report claims Spurs ‘triple injury boost’ in training ahead of Champions League clash

Tottenham Hotspur have apparently been handed a triple injury boost ahead of their Champions League showdown against Red Star Belgrade tomorrow night.

Spurs come into the match off the back of three games without a win in all competitions after 7-2 and 3-0 losses to Bayern and Brighton respectively, as well as a 1-1 draw at home to Watford on Saturday.

Tottenham are joint bottom of their Champions League group with just the one point, but a win over Red Star would put them right back in contention for a qualifying spot.

Football London have now reported that Spurs have welcomed Giovani Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon, and Christian Eriksen into the squad training sessions ahead of the Tuesday night game.

This comes after none of the three featured in the matchday squad on Saturday against Watford.

Lo Celso has yet to appear in the Champions League for Spurs, while Sessegnon hasn’t appeared in any competition for his new club yet.

While Eriksen is said to be in contention to feature tomorrow, the report does admit that the game could come too soon for Lo Celso and Sessegnon.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I can’t see the new boys featuring for a few weeks yet while they build up their match fitness. The last thing Pochettino would want is for them to pick up another injury and be out for far longer.
