Report claims Spurs hierarchy have one key reservation about Antonio Conte

According to L’Equipe, the Tottenham board have some reservations about Antonio Conte’s man-management style and communication.

Conte’s four and a half months in charge of Spurs have been a roller coaster ride, with some brilliant performances and results being interrupted with some equally poor displays.

The Italian has not been shy of voicing his discontent publicly, even suggesting last month that he might not be the right man to help the club turn their fortunes around (Football.London).

Over recent days, the 52-year-old has been mooted as a possible candidate to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain (CalcioMercato).

A report in L’Equipe has now discussed the feasibility of PSG appointing Conte. They explain that Italian’s ‘group management and communication doesn’t really sit well’ with the Tottenham hierarchy.

They add that the former Inter Milan boss could thus ‘quickly leave’ the North London club and that his ‘strong personality’ would make him a good fit for PSG.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs fans should take this report with a pinch of salt. The journalists close to Tottenham have made it clear that Daniel Levy is desperate for the Conte appointment to work (The Athletic). I doubt L’Equipe would have more reliable sources inside the club than the likes of Alasdair Gold, Dan Kilpatrick or Charlie Eccleshare do.
