Report claims Spurs looking to agree Nuno replacement in ‘next few hours’

Tutto Mercato Web report that Tottenham have revisited their interest in Antonio Conte following a poor start to the season under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The report claims that Spurs are ‘working to close’ the appointment of the former Inter Milan manager, while an agreement may even be found in the ‘next few hours’.

TMW also go on to report that Tottenham’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, is ‘betting strongly’ on Conte and a potential pursuit is being hyped up.

This all comes after Spurs fell to yet another heavy defeat to one of the big six yesterday as Man United cruised to a 3-0 victory. Chelsea and Arsenal also put three past Tottenham in wins earlier this season.

In the summer, Conte was heavily rumoured to be taking over as Spurs head coach but talks between the Italian and the Lilywhites seemed to end abruptly.

If Tutto Mercato Web are to be believed, the idea of Conte to Tottenham may not yet be dead in the water as we edge towards November.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Would I welcome it? Yes! Do I believe it? Not at all. I expect Nuno to be given a chance to turn things around, perhaps until Christmas. Unfortunately, whatever experiment Paratici and Levy had planned, it has not worked.
