Report claims Spurs may end up with two star playmakers for the new season

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly edging closer to signing one of their top summer targets in Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis.

The Mirror claim that Lo Celso could fly over for his medical as early as this week if a fee is agreed between the two clubs.

The Sun add that Betis are now willing to accept a fee of just £45m for the playmaker after securing his replacement in Nabil Fekir.

Spurs actually bid £53m for Lo Celso earlier in the window, so it would seem a strange move for Real Betis to dip below this starting valuation (BBC).

Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen remains a Tottenham player, with Pochettino even naming him as part of the pre-season tour squad last week.

This comes after Eriksen made it very clear that he was looking for a new challenge away from Spurs this summer (Ekstra Bladet), although an exit does not seem to be close as of yet.

HITC have now reported that a Lo Celso signing does not necessarily equate to an Eriksen sale, as Pochettino has apparently always been keen on strengthening his playmaker options.

Could we see Lo Celso and Eriksen line up together next season?
