Report claims Spurs may have to pay £13m more than originally stated for star

Recent reports have been linking Tottenham with the Ajax keeper, Andre Onana, perhaps as a long-term replacement for the ageing Hugo Lloris.

Having said that, Paulo Gazzaniga has been a more than able deputy since Lloris’s injury against Brighton, having a stellar game against Liverpool and making some good stops against Everton.

However, if Spurs do want to look elsewhere, then The Sun reported this week that Ajax would sell Onana if the right offer came in. The report stated that this ‘right offer’ would be between £30m and £35m.

Contrastingly, a more recent report out of the Netherlands claims that £35m is the absolute minimum Ajax would want for Onana, with the more likely price being £43m, a full £13m more than the potential £30m value reported in the Sun (De Telegraaf).

It remains to be seen when Lloris will return in the new year, whether he will be able to get his starting spot back, and whether Gazzaniga will impress enough to prevent Spurs from investing elsewhere.
