Tanguy Ndombele held a meeting with Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk recently, and it seems the chat has had a positive effect on the Frenchman, with his performances in training said to have improved since.
It would seem Ndombele‘s chances of succeeding at Tottenham Hotspur are over, after he was given yet another opportunity to impress a new manager in the summer, but failed to convince Ange Postecoglou he was worthy of a place in his squad.
The decision was made to loan the 26-year-old out to Galatasaray, but things have not quite gone to plan for him out in Turkey so far, either. Before this weekend, Ndombele has made just seven appearances for his new club, totalling only 123 minutes of game time (Transfermarkt).
According to Fotospor, his manager had lost patience with the attitude and lack of professionalism displayed by Ndombele, with concerns over his physical condition, too.
Things are looking up for Ndombele
However, the latest reports from Milliyet refer to a ‘special meeting’ between Ndombele and Buruk during the international break, which seems to have had a positive effect, at least for now.
After receiving a pep talk from Buruk, in which Ndombele was reminded of the ‘high expectations’ placed on him, there has been a marked improvement in the midfielder.
That’s according to journalist Osman Şenher for Milliyet, who claims Ndombele’s “tempo and desire has increased by 100%” in the wake of that meeting. Ndombele is now expected to feature more prominently in the upcoming games for Galatasaray, something which has proven to be correct after the Frenchman was named in the starting eleven for this afternoon’s home fixture against Alanyaspor and led 2-0 heading into half time.

Surely, Ndombele will sort himself out soon and realise that he is so close to throwing away his whole career. We don’t want him back at Spurs, so hopefully he picks up his performances and secures a permanent move to Galatasaray (or anywhere, to be honest, as long as he is off our books).
