Report claims Spurs star was lucky not to be sent off against West Ham

The Daily Mirror have revealed that Sergio Reguilon was overheard unleashing an expletive-laden rant at referee Craig Pawson in Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.

Spurs endured another frustrating afternoon at the London Stadium as they fell to their fifth defeat in six Premier League games, courtesy of two goals at the start of either half.

While Tottenham fashioned several good opportunities and hit the woodwork on two occasions, the home side managed to hold on for the three points.

The frustrations of some Spurs players appeared to be boiling over during the match, particularly in the first-half, with three of Mourinho’s men going into the book. One of those was Reguilon, who was cautioned for his challenge on Jarrod Bowen.

The Mirror claims that the left-back, who was making his first start since recovering from a muscle injury, was lucky not to be shown a second yellow after he unleashed a foul-mouthed rant at Pawson.

After being shown a yellow, the 24-year-old reportedly yelled at the official in Spanish: “F****** hell mate. What card is that? God. A s*** card. Mother f*****.”

If that is indeed was Reguilon said, then he is lucky that Pawson probably does not understand Spanish. That could have easily seen him being given his marching orders.
