Tottenham Hotspur became the first Premier League club ever not to make a single summer signing this year, despite making a last ditch effort to buy Jack Grealish.
The Aston Villa star was seen as a possible bargain buy due to Villa’s financial difficulties, however, Spurs still refused to stump up more that £30m and so the deal never happened.
The Express are now reporting that Spurs could reignite interest in January, despite the fact Grealish has signed a new 5 year deal at Villa.
It seems unlikely that his current club would let him go half way through a season in which they hope to gain promotion to the Premier League.
Tottenham would likely have to pay in the excess of £50m for the winger/attacking midfielder now that he has a huge chunk of time on his contract.
Is Grealish worth that kind of money, or should Spurs look elsewhere?
