Report claims that 24-year-old is ‘100 per cent’ looking to leave Spurs this summer

Joe Rodon is looking to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to Football Insider.

The Welsh international has been notable by his absence in recent months, with Antonio Conte appearing to favour a number of others ahead of him in his central defensive pecking order.

Conte admitted before Christmas that he considered Rodon to be a back-up for Eric Dier in the middle of his defensive trio, but still failed to get picked when Dier missed eight matches through injury (transfermarkt).

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that the 24-year-old has ‘one hundred percent’ made his mind up that he wishes to leave the club at the end of the current campaign.

Rodon was said to have been open to departing in January when Brighton and Newcastle were interested, only for a permanent or loan switch to fail to materialise.

Unfortunately for Rodon, it looks as if his days at Tottenham are numbered and he needs regular first team football to be able to continue to hold down a place in the Welsh starting eleven.

It was somewhat questionable that Conte continued to overlook Rodon while Dier was out injured when Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga were hardly setting the world alight.
