Report claims that Chelsea and Liverpool have advantage over Spurs in CL this year

English football certainly gave a good account of itself last season in Europe, with both major finals being occupied by Premier League sides.

Tottenham took on Liverpool in the Champions League Final and Chelsea faced off against Arsenal in the Europa League.

Therefore, the Prem boasts an array of talent in the top tier of European competition this season, with the Champions League winners and runners-up, the Europe League winners, and the Premier League champions in Man City.

Chelsea, City, and Liverpool all went into pot one due to their trophy-winning seasons last year, while Spurs were in pot two.

It appears that Chelsea and Liverpool have yet another advantage over the Lilywhites in the group stages, as they do not have to travel anywhere near as much.

The Express reports that Spurs will travel 6214 miles to face Bayern Munich, Olympiacos, and Red Star Belgrade.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will only travel 2424 miles and Liverpool 4474. At least Man City are forced to travel 7240 miles.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I doubt that travel will have much of a factor in the grand scheme of things. All four teams have to travel to another country, play a big match, and then travel home again.
