Report claims that Spurs defender could be ‘good option’ for Real Madrid and Barcelona

According to a report in El Desmarque, Davinson Sanchez could potentially be on Real Madrid’s and Barcelona’s radars with the two Spanish giants aiming to bolster their backline.

Sanchez found himself struggling for game time at the start of the season but it appeared that he had turned a corner after a regular fixture in the side over the past couple of months.

However, the Colombian once again demonstrated his flaws in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Newcastle after he was at fault for the Magpies opening goal.

The 24-year-old has been widely criticised by pundits for his display at St James’ Park and found himself not even in the match day squad for yesterday’s loss to Manchester United.

Reports had indicated last month that the former Ajax man is Sevilla’s number one centre-back target in the summer.

However, El Desmarque suggest that a move to the Santiago Bernabeu or the Camp Nou could also be on the cards for Sanchez.

It is revealed that both Madrid and Barcelona have deals for David Alaba and Eric Garcia lined up respectively and that Sanchez could be an option for both clubs if either deal falls through.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not see how Sanchez could be a target for either Madrid or Barcelona on the back of the season he has had. Given that not a lot of clubs have money to throw around this summer, our best hope of getting decent value for the Colombian in the market would likely be if there is interest from mid-table Premier League clubs.
