Report claims Tottenham star will only leave in the summer despite late interest

Contrary to reports from Turkey, The Daily Mirror claim that Danny Rose will see out his contract with Tottenham and leave as a free agent at the end of the season.

Rose has not featured for Tottenham for over a year and looks like he has played his last game for the club after being completely frozen out by Jose Mourinho.

It was suggested earlier this month that the North London club could terminate the 30-year-old’s contract, which has five months left to run and allow him to leave on a free transfer.

Reports from Turkey even suggested that Trabzonspor have agreed on a deal for the England international, who has been tipped to sign a three and a half year deal with the club this weekend.

The Mirror now claim that it is not just Trabzonspor who are showing interest in Rose but Sheffield United are also keen on signing him before Monday’s transfer deadline.

However, it is suggested that Rose is determined to see out the remaining five months of his £60,000-a-week deal at Spurs and leave as a free agent in the summer.

The report claims that the left-back still believes he can move to a Premier League club in the summer and revive his career.

Turkish publications are usually not reliable when it comes to transfer speculation and so the report in The Mirror is more likely to be true. Besides, Rose has spoken about being homesick and wanting to go back up north and so it is difficult to imagine him being open to a move to Turkey.
