Report claims two players have yet to return to training after recent injuries

Tottenham Hotspur welcomed back a number of first-team players this week, as some stars were afforded some time off during the winter break.

The likes of Dele Alli, Troy Parrott, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Paulo Gazzaniga and more all took the chance to jet off for a short break.

However, it is now time to train again ahead of Tottenham’s next match away to Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend.

After wins over Norwich and Man City at home, Spurs will be looking to make it three Premier League wins on the bounce. The Lilywhites also defeated Southampton 3-2 in the FA Cup fourth round replay last time out.

The Standard have now reported that, while Ben Davies has returned to first-team training after his injury, there has been no sign of Erik Lamela of Giovani Lo Celso as of yet.

Both missed that last FA Cup match through minor injuries, but Mourinho will be hoping to have them back as they have each impressed of late with their creativity and on-pitch effort.
