Report claims what Christian Eriksen’s feelings are over potential Arsenal move

According to a report by ESPN, former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen would consider joining Arsenal when the transfer window reopens in January, despite spending six and a half years representing the white half of North London.

Reports over the past few weeks have suggested that Eriksen could be on his way to the Emirates with a possible swap deal involving Granit Xhaka moving the other way mooted as a possibility (Corriere dello Sport via The Sun).

The Daily Star suggested earlier this week that Arsenal are unlikely to move for Eriksen since Mikel Arteta is instead focused on signing a new central defender in January.

ESPN now claim that the Gunners have been offered the chance to sign the former Spurs man for a cut-price fee of just £12m, with the 28-year-old not opposed to joining Tottenham’s bitter North London rivals.

However, ESPN also expressed doubt on whether the move is likely to materialise as it is suggested Arteta may have his doubts on whether Eriksen would be able to fulfil the demands of his tactical system which requires high-intensity pressing and disciplined positioning from his midfielders.
