Report claims what is holding up Spurs’ move for Zeki Celik

Bleacher Report have claimed that it is Tottenham’s inability to sell Serge Aurier that is holding up a potential deal for Zeki Celik.

Right-back is reportedly one of the areas Spurs are looking to strengthen this summer, with Celik being one of the options the club are interested in (Le10Sport).

Reports also indicate that Serge Aurier could follow Kyle Walker-Peters out of the door, with AC Milan interested in bringing him to Serie A (Evening Standard).

However, Spurs and Milan are still said to be around £7million apart in their respective valuations of the Ivory Coast international.

Bleacher Report now claim that while Spurs want to complete a deal for Celik, they want to sort out Aurier’s future before signing the Lille man.

However, with the former PSG man’s sale now looking complicated, it is said that the North Londoners may have to come up with creative solutions in the transfer market.

The report also reveals that Spurs have identified alternatives to Celik in case the move for the Turkish defender collapses.

What makes me convinced that we will cash in on Aurier this summer is the fact that we have not heard anything about a possible contract extension for the right-back. With two years left to run on his deal, the club would want to repeat their past mistakes of allowing players to run into the final year of their deals.
