Report claims what Spurs have told Real Madrid over Gareth Bale’s future

According to a report by Diario Madridista, Tottenham Hotspur have informed Real Madrid that they will not be extending Gareth Bale’s stay in North London beyond the end of the season.

There was plenty of excitement surrounding Bale’s return to Spurs when the Welshman completed a season-long loan deal in the summer.

However, the winger has looked a shadow of his old self during his time at the club so far and looks a long way off from forcing himself into Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven.

Diario Madridista claim that Tottenham have the option to take Bale for another season but have now told Real Madrid that they will not be taking up that option.

It is said that the 31-year-old’s performances have not convinced Jose Mourinho or the Tottenham hierarchy.

The report suggests that the wide man will return to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer and the La Liga giants could look to move him on to the MLS.

The fact that Mourinho opted not to bring Bale on against Chelsea despite the fact that we were chasing the game, suggests that the Spurs boss does not have any faith in the Welshman. Sadly, it is difficult to see how things can turn around for the 31-year-old.
