Report claims what the Spurs management feel about Bale’s contribution

According to a report in the AS, the enthusiasm around Gareth Bale’s return has deflated around Tottenham Hotspur on the back of the Welshman’s recent displays.

Bale received a heroes welcome at Tottenham from the North London faithful when he returned to the club on loan in the summer after seven years at Real Madrid.

However, it is fair to say that the Welshman is yet to really hit the heights that Tottenham fans would have hoped for.

Bale got on the scoresheet in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Stoke City in the Carabao Cup quarterfinal last Wednesday but that was only the 31-year-old’s third goal since his return to the club.

The Real Madrid loanee has started just one Premier League game since his return to North London and is starting to come under criticism for his lacklustre displays.

The report in AS (as translated by SportBible) claims that those at Tottenham have been “very disappointed” by the impact or rather, the lack of it that the returning superstar has made in North London.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is a shame that Bale picked up a knock in the match against Stoke on Wednesday. I believe that when he gets back fit, Mourinho needs to give him a run of three of four consecutive Premier League games so that the Welshman can build some momentum and regain his rhythm. If he still fails to produce, then Mourinho will be completely justified in benching him.
