Report claims who Conte would want to replace Kane with if he ever left Spurs

Tuttosport have claimed that Antonio Conte would want to bring Romelu Lukaku to Tottenham if Harry Kane leaves the club next summer.

Kane has less than two years left on his current deal at Tottenham (Transfermarkt) and reports from Germany are continuing to link the England captain with a move to Bayern Munich next summer.

Christian Falk claimed last week that Julian Nagelsmann’s side are hopeful Kane will not sign a new contract with Spurs so the Bundesliga giants can make a move for him in 2023.

However, Meanwhile, reports in England over recent months have suggested that Tottenham are now more optimistic that the 29-year-old could put pen to paper on a new deal (The Athletic).

TuttoSport have now suggested that Bayern have identified Kane as the man to fill the void Robert Lewandowski has left at the club.

The German club are backed to make a move for the Tottenham striker next summer and should he leave Spurs, it is revealed that Conte wants to be reunited with Lukaku.

The Belgian international is currently on loan at Inter Milan and the report asserts that Thomas Tuchel’s departure does not change his situation at Stamford Bridge.

TuttoSport claims state that for Conte, Lukaku is the ‘striker of his dreams’ and that Chelsea would be willing to sell the striker to Spurs if the North London club make a decent proposal.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would expect Tottenham to be formulating contingency plans just in case Kane does not sign a new contract. So, it is not ridiculous to think that the club might have explored a deal for Lukaku.

However, I am confident that Kane will sign a new deal as he evidently seems to have bought into Conte’s ideas.

The 29-year-old also has his eyes on Alan Shearer’s record and I do not see him joining another PL side anytime soon, now that City and Liverpool have spent big on Haaland and Nunez respectively.
