Report claims Zinedine Zidane is not a fan of Dele Alli since 2017 incident

According to a report in AS, rumours of Dele Alli potentially joining Real Madrid as part of the deal to take Gareth Bale to Spurs were rejected out of hand by the Madrid hierarchy.

It was first reported on Tuesday that Tottenham could let Dele join the La Liga champions as a part of the Bale deal ( Telegraph), but reports now indicate that the England international will not be part of the transfer to bring the Welshman to North London (Football.London).

AS claim that when the rumour was put to those at Real Madrid, they made it clear that they would not be interested in singing the Spurs midfielder.

The report suggests that Los Blancos are trying to trim their wage bill and so would not want to add another high earner like Alli to their squad.

It is also revealed that Zinedine Zidane does not want to entertain the prospect of signing Dele after he was left angered by the midfielder’s comments after his side were beaten 3-1 by Spurs in the group stages of the 2017/18 Champions League.

Dele scored a brace in the game but his reported claimed after the match that he was disappointed not to get a hat-trick, is said to have irked Zidane.

It is said that the Madrid boss does not believe the 24-year-old would improve his squad and is against bringing him to the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not believe that Daniel Levy would have been ready to offer Dele Alli to Real Madrid as part of the Bale deal, given the difference in the values of both players. Despite the midfielder getting withdrawn at half-time against Everton, I believe he is still an important part of Jose’s plans this season.
