According to CNN Turk, Galatasaray are set to demand around €35m (£29.5m) for rumoured Tottenham target Kerem Akturkoglu this summer.
Akturkoglu’s reputation has blossomed since his move to the Nef Stadyumu in the summer of 2020.
The winger has registered 11 goals and nine assists across all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt) and has thus attracted the attention of Europe’s top clubs.
Turkish publication Aksam claimed last month that Spurs and Arsenal had both sent scouts to run the rule over the player this season and each will knock on Galatasaray’s door for the wide-man when the transfer window reopens.
In addition, the report revealed that the 23-year-old was also on the radars of Lyon, Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg.
CNN Turk have now claimed that Galatasaray have been advised not to let Akturkoglu leave for a cut-price fee.
Former Lille director Luis Campos, who recently acted as an adviser to the Turkish giants, is said to have informed the club’s hierarchy that the winger’s talent is ‘huge’ and they should not accept a fee of less than €35m (£29.5m) for the player.
Spurs Web Opinion
Not too many players from Turkey tend to be sold for more than £20m. Given the current economic situation in European football, I would be surprised if Akturkoglu fetched near the reported £30m figure this summer, despite his obvious talent.
