Report: Club are exploring summer replacements for Tottenham loanee

Valencia are already looking at options to replace Tottenham loanee Bryan Gil this summer with any deal to keep the youngster likely to be too expensive, according to El Desmarque.

Gil secured a move to the Spanish side until the end of the season on transfer deadline day, just six months after joining Spurs from Sevilla.

The 20-year-old has hit the ground running in his first four appearances, with reports hinting that Valencia could look to open talks with Spurs over extending his loan until the end of next term (Cadena SER).

However, that is not the case according to El Desmarque, who report that such a move would be a pipe dream for the La Liga club, with a deal unlikely due to the large costs involved.

The report states Gil’s salary would prove to be a partial stumbling block, as well as the high price Spurs would likely place on the winger.

It is added that Valencia are starting to look for replacements for Gil as a result, with Chelsea and Brazil winger Kenedy firmly on the club’s radar for the summer.

Gil has clearly had a positive start to life at Valencia and has gained plenty of suitors so far, but the expenses in a potential deal will stop a longer deal. Considering he is only 20-years-old too, it would be strange to see Spurs offload him already having seen him play for around six months.
