The Daily Telegraph’s Mike McGrath has taken to social media to reveal that Swansea are now close to landing what could potentially be a replacement for rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Joe Rodon.
The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare revealed on Tuesday that Tottenham expect to complete a deal for Rodon before Friday’s EFL transfer deadline, with the 22-year-old keen on making the move to North London.
He claimed that Spurs were hopeful of getting a deal over the line for a few million more than the £7million they initially had in mind.
However, Eccleshare did suggest that Swansea wanted to sign two additional centre-backs before they were willing to let the Welsh international leave.
It now looks like the Championship side are close to getting one central defender through the door with McGrath reporting that the club are in talks with Manchester City over a deal to take Joel Latibeaudiere on loan.
The 20-year-old is also said to be attracting interest from Reading and Bournemouth but the Swans have been installed as the favourites to land him.
Talks have progressed over Joel Latibeaudiere between #ManCity and #Swansea, who are favourites to land the England U20 centre-back. Also interest from #ReadingFC for him
