Report: Club could axe player signed from Spurs in January window

Everton are reportedly already looking to move on Dele Alli this summer just a handful of months after signing him from Tottenham, according to TEAMtalk.

Alli’s career at Spurs had stalled which forced his exit in January, with the Toffees picking up a late deal on transfer deadline day.

However, the former England international’s fortunes have not changed as of yet as he has failed to make an impact under Frank Lampard.

And Alli’s stint in Merseyside could already be coming to an end with TEAMtalk reporting he could be on the move at the end of the season, which could impact what Spurs would receive for the midfielder.

Everton agreed on a deal worth up to £40 million which is structured heavily around performance-related payments, meaning Spurs have currently received nothing as of yet.

The north London club would receive a fee of £10 million once Alli reaches 20 appearances (BBC Sport) – a mark which he is currently way off reaching and is impossible to reach this season.

He has yet to start for Everton in the Premier League during the current campaign, with his six appearances all coming from the substitutes’ bench (Transfermarkt).

This would be just Spurs’ luck, but it was also a very risky deal to go ahead with in the first place. They were obviously banking on him hitting the ground running, but that obviously hasn’t happened yet.

Hopefully, with a bit of time we will see him get a run in the Everton team and if he does end up getting listed for transfer, Spurs will not want any interested parties to come in.
