Report: Club could step up efforts to sign Tottenham man after World Cup

FCB Inside have claimed that Bayern Munich are expected to step up their efforts to sign Harry Kane after the World Cup.

There have been mixed reports emanating from Germany regarding Bayern’s pursuit of Kane over recent weeks.

TZ claimed a couple of weeks ago that the Bundesliga giants want to replace Robert Lewandowski with the Tottenham man and are prepared to pay over €100m (£86.2m) to sign the 29-year-old next summer.

This was contradicted by a report in Sport Bild, which suggested earlier this week that the Bayern hierarchy are ‘split’ over whether to make a move for the England captain.

It was alleged that some of the insiders at the Allianz Arena believe the Spurs striker does not suit the club’s style of football.

However, FCB Inside have now asserted that Kane remains a ‘hot topic’ for Bayern and is at the top of the wishlist for Julian Naglesmann’s side.

The report added that Bayern will continue to push their efforts to sign the Tottenham star after the turn of the year. The publication also stated that while Spurs remain keen on extending Kane’s contract, the striker has put contract talks on hold until after the World Cup.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Bayern will be the only club with an eye on Kane’s contract situation. Should the 29-year-old not extend his contract with Spurs, a whole host of clubs will likely show interest in him next summer. However, I remain convinced that the striker will sign a new deal as long as Conte commits his future to Tottenham.
