Report: Club could still hijack Tottenham’s Ndombele deal

Manchester United are still considering a late move for Tottenham’s transfer target Tanguy Ndombele, according to reports in France (L’Equipe).

Despite Spurs having reportedly agreed on a deal worth in the region of £65m for the 22-year-old midfielder, according to reports in France.

With the midfielder keen on a move to a “big club” and Lyon prepared to sell the highest bidder it leaves the door open for United to try a late hijack for the Frenchman. (Telefoot)

United have held talks with Lyon regarding the midfielder, however, without selling Paul Pogba it is unlikely they will be in a position to make a move for the Spurs target.

Pogba’s future seems uncertain but should the midfielder be sold sooner rather than later it could see the Red Devils ramp up their interest again in Ndombele.

However, as it stands Spurs remain the favourites in the race to secure Ndombele’s services and it is expected the 22-year-old will sign with Spurs on a five-year deal this week.

Spurs Web Opinion:

A move from Manchester United -although possible – is very unlikely with Spurs being so deep in negotiations with Lyon and with the midfielder seemingly set on a move to London after being persuaded by Mauricio Pochettino.
