Report: Club could terminate player’s contract so they can sign Spurs man

Quotidiano Sportivo have reported that Juventus may look to free up money to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham by terminating the contract of Paul Pogba.

Pogba is currently provisionally suspended after elevated levels of testosterone were allegedly found in a recent blood test (BBC Sport).

The report claims that terminating Pogba’s current could free up around €25m for Juventus, which is just €5m less than the fee Tottenham have asked for Hojbjerg (Calcio Mercato).

Could Hojbjerg swap Spurs for Juventus?

Gazzetta dello Sport reported recently that Juventus want to make a move for Hojbjerg in January, with the Dane having been reduced to a bit-part role under Ange Postecoglou at Spurs.

LondonWorld have even reported that Juve are preparing a £30m bid for the former Southampton man as they look to reinforce their midfield ranks.

Tottenham have preferred a midfield trio of Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, and Pape Matar Sarr so far this season, with Rodrigo Bentancur also closing in on a return.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Selling Hojbjerg makes sense for Spurs, but not on the cheap. He is still a valuable player off the bench and Tottenham will want to recoup enough of a fee to reinvest in a high-quality replacement.
