Report: Club director set to fly to London – Potential talks with Spurs about centre-back

Italian publication La Stampa (as relayed by FC Inter News) have revealed that Torino technical director Davide Vagnati is set to fly to London to hold talks with Tottenham regarding Gleison Bremer.

Spurs have been linked with a whole host of central defenders over the last few months (Football.London) but the North London club do not appear to be close to signing one at the moment.

Bremer is one of the names who has been repeatedly linked with a move to the North London club, with previous reports from Italy suggesting that Spurs are battling Inter Milan for the Brazilian (Calciomercato).

Torino allegedly value the 25-year-old at around £30m, with Inter not thought to have agreed on a fee for the defender despite holding talks (SportsMediaset).

La Stampa now claim that although Bremer has a verbal agreement with Inter to move to the San Siro, Torino are looking to get an auction going for the centre-back.

It is alleged that Vagnati will fly to London this week to speak to representatives from both Spurs and Chelsea to try and get a bidding war going for the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even though Spurs have seemingly expressed an interest in Bremer, I do not think the 25-year-old is at the top of Conte’s wishlist.

If he was, one would have expected Spurs to have already made an offer to Torino or at least discussed personal terms with the centre-back.

The fact that they have not suggests that the North Londoners view the Brazilian as a fallback option in case a deal for their top targets prove unfeasible.
