Report: Club do not want to sell defender in January despite Tottenham links

According to talkSPORT, Bournemouth do not wish to sell Lloyd Kelly in January even though the centre-back’s contract at the Vitality Stadium runs out next summer.

Over the past few weeks, multiple outlets have backed Tottenham to reignite their interest in Kelly in January after failing to get a deal for the player over the line during the summer (GiveMeSport).

A couple of days ago, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Cherries star is also attracting interest from Serie A, with both Juventus and AC Milan thought to be eyeing the Englishman.

Bournemouth do not want to sell Lloyd Kelly

It has now been reported by talkSPORT that signing a centre-back is a priority for Ange Postecoglou’s men in January and that Kelly remains one of the names on their radar.

However, it is explained that Bournemouth would rather risk losing Kelly for nothing next summer than put their Premier League status in jeopardy by selling him in the upcoming window.

The outlet adds that the centre-back also has admirers at Liverpool and Newcastle United.

One can understand why Bournemouth would take that stance as preserving their Premier League status is worth a lot more than the loss of a few million on Kelly by holding on to him until the summer.
